Moon is a sci-fi drama featuring Sam Bell (Sam Rockwell) nearing the end of his 3 year contract on a lunar base harvesting helium-3. Sam is alone on the moon accompanied only by his AI guardian and operational know it all GERTY (voiced by Kevin Spacey).
Written and directed by Duncan Jones (aka Zowie Bowie), Moon is a brilliant story. We follow Sam and his struggles with loneliness. He is cut off from any live communications with humanity. His only contact comes in the form of video messaging from his wife and operational command. There really isn't much that can be said without spoilers. That said, this is a great film with excellent performances from both Rockwell and Spacey. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good story. There is nothing flashy about the special effects, but this definitely doesn't take anything away from the film.
